Introducing a New Partnership

Friends International and Christian Unions Ireland (formerly IFES Ireland) are partnering together to further the ministry to international students in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Hollie Tagle has been appointed the Project Team Leader and will oversee the 5-year project starting at the end of 2016. Initially the focus will be on understanding, supporting and developing the work in Belfast but this will be followed by promoting international student ministry elsewhere in Ireland.

Alan has been working for the last 23 years with the mission agency Latin Link, as Team Leader in Britain and Ireland and then more recently as International Team Leader. He will continue part time with Latin Link while the next International Team Leader appointment process is worked through.
Alan brings with him these many years of missional leadership experience as well as a profound desire to see people of all backgrounds come to know Jesus.

A Fond Farewell

Dave Pepper is moving on after 7 years with Friends International.

In October I wrote to inform Friends International that Dave Pepper was stepping down as National Director. The replies back included comments like these: “He has done such a wonderful job”, “He
has brought an immense amount to FI”, “He will be sorely missed”.

Dave’s contribution to Friends International has been hugely appreciated so the news of his departure is sad, but we are also very grateful to God for the increase in centre teams, branches an affiliates, as well as the pleasure of working with Dave over the past seven years. So, we wish him well, and entrust his future plans and ours to our loving Heavenly Father.

Introducing: Returning Home?

For those that have spent some time studying or working abroad, this new booklet will help you prepare for life back home.

Reverse culture shock and re-entry stress are all normal experiences when returning home, this booklet will help you work through those challenges and to better understand and manage them.

The booklet is available now from our online shop.

Endorsements for Returning Home from academic professionals:

"I am delighted to be able to recommend 'Returning Home' to my students. It is a honest, thorough and constructive approach to 're-entry issues' for international students returning home with the challenges and opportunities that brings."

 — Revd Dr Andrew Bishop, Coordinating Chaplain, University of Surrey, Guildford, UK
