Report: Word Alive 2019
We had a fantastic time on the international student track at Word Alive, in Prestatyn.
There were over 100 people in our morning Bible talks (Peter Teagle & Chris Richardson) and Seminars ('Work', 'Relationships' and 'Ghosts, gods, spirits and ancestors') with 12 discussion groups of many languages and nationalities each afternoon.
Many of those coming along were seekers, new believers or preparing to return home as disciples of Christ. A number of the international students were all set to be baptised on Easter Sunday and the track provided a rich time of learning and growth as students were challenged to put down deep roots in Christ. We also had a lovely trip around Prestatyn that included a meal, a talk on 'returnee issues' and the traditional balloon game!
The evening celebrations gave the international students a taste of being part of God’s worldwide church and the experience of worshipping Him in a crowd of thousands, often an eye-opening experience for them, especially those from countries where the church is struggling or oppressed.
We have found the week to be a significant time for many students each year, and several make a decision for Christ off the back of the teaching, shared time and conversations they have at Word Alive. Thank you for your prayers.
